Hand in Hand: The Suzanne Renée Leider Memorial Assistance Fund
This program by the Sarcoma Alliance offers financial grants for a second opinion consultation.
These grants are designed to reimburse out-of-pocket expenses related to a single second opinion consultation with a sarcoma physician. The grants can reimburse expenses related to travel, costs of the evaluation, and related expenses.
We are proud to share that grants have been given to women and men in every age group in almost every state and for every type of sarcoma.
Details:
- As of January 27, 2021, the grant maximum is $1,000.
- Grants are to subsidize one consultation with a sarcoma specialist and do not underwrite ongoing medical expenses after the first visit.
- Application deadlines are March 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15.
- Grant funds are released the month following the application deadline.
- Grants are to reimburse expenses already incurred from a completed second opinion consultation. Applications should be submitted after the consultation.
